UFC 85: “BEDLAM” weight-in Results

The official weigh-in results for UFC 85: “BEDLAM” at the O2 Arena in London, England, are in. “BEDLAM” is slated to air at 3 p.m. ET on pay-per-view (PPV) from the O2 Arena on Saturday, June 7.

Note: Fighters are allowed to weigh one pound more than the division limit in non-title fights.

Note: Thiago Alves came in heavy at 174 pounds for his main event fight against Matt Hughes. Hughes have agreed to fight at a catchweight so Alves will not have to shed the extra poundage.

UFC 85 fight card complete – Rashad Evans will NOT fight

Evans was scheduled to fight Thiago Silva at UFC 84 then Chuck Liddell, then James Irvin and finally Luis Cane, will now not fight anyone at UFC 85: “Bedlam” at the O2 Arena in London, England, on June 7. And now the bout between Cane and Lambert is back on again.

After more twists and turns than a Hollywood thriller, June 7th’s UFC 85: Bedlam show has finally been set with 11 fights. Included is a move of the intriguing middleweight clash between Nate Marquardt and Thales Leites to the pay-per-view portion of the card, and a scrapping of the Rashad Evans vs James Irvin bout due to a broken foot suffered by Irvin.

“A broken foot has forced light heavyweight James Irvin to withdraw from his UFC 85 showdown with Rashad Evans at London’s O2 Arena. Stepping up to replace ‘The Sandman’ against Evans is Brazil’s Luiz Cane, who was originally scheduled to face Jason Lambert on the June 7th card.”

UFC 85: Michael Bisping vs. Jason Day fight confirmed

According to wrestlingobserver.com, Chris Leben was sentenced to 35 days in jail and will be released on May 27, 2008, which gives him only 12 days until his scheduled showdown with Michael Bisping at UFC 85: “Bedlam” at the O2 Arena in London, England, on June 7.

It was apparently too close for comfort, forcing UFC to scrap the bout.

Jason Day will fill-in for the incarcerated Chris Leben and fight hometown favorite, Michael Bisping. Day is relatively unknown but is extremely tough fighter who surprised fans and critics with his knockout of Alan Belcher at UFC 83: “Serra vs. St. Pierre 2″ on April 19.

Bisping is coming off a decisive win over Charles McCarthy at UFC 83, it was Bisping’s first win at his new weight — 185 lbs.
