Sam Stout vs. Per Eklund at UFC 80


Sherdog is reporting Per Eklund (12-2-1) will take on heavy handed striker Sam “Hands Of Stone” Stout (12-3-1) on the UFC 80: “Rapid Fire” Fight Card which takes place at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England on the 19th of January.

Swedish standout Per Eklund will fight TKO lightweight champion Sam Stout on the undercard of the Jan. 19 UFC lightweight title fight between B.J. Penn and Joe Stevenson, Eklund’s manager, Manos Terzitane, confirmed with Sherdog.com.

A native of Stockholm, Eklund turns 27 next Monday. He is widely regarded as the No. 1 fighter at 155 pounds in Europe.

Per Eklund Signed To UFC, debuts at UFC 80


Per Eklund has inked a deal with the UFC. The contract is for 4 fights within 18 months. His first fight will be in Newcastle, England at UFC 80 in January 2008. No opponent has been picked.

Per Eklund is in 155lbs division, he brings in a 12-2-1 record and is a veteran of BodogFight. He has has won four of his last fights.
