Karo Parisyan Doesn’t Like the Diaz Brothers

The Canadian Press has an interview with Karo “The Heat” Parisyan where he discusses his upcoming bout with Ryo Chonan and his opinions of the Diaz brothers.

Parisyan on being called crazy by his opponent Ryo Chonan:

“Well I guess he’ll really find out how crazy I am when I get in the damn cage with him,” Parisyan said of his mixed martial arts opponent Saturday night in Newark, N.J.

In Chonan’s defence, the Japanese fighter prefaced the comment on the UFC website with a compliment.

“He is a strong fighter with good judo skills. I saw him on the show ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and thought he was crazy,”

On the Diaz brothers:

“He tried to show disrespect,” Parisyan explained in an interview. “I guess he had it bottled up inside since I beat his brother (Nate Diaz, at UFC 49 in August 2004). But I don’t take anything from anybody, man, especially freaking Nate Diaz. Give me a freaking break.”

Parisyan explained the beef started when others on Gamburyan’s team got in the way of his coaching his cousin against Matt Wiman by getting in Gamburyan’s ear. Parisyan reckoned it should have been him doing the talking, reasoning no one knew his cousin like he did and no one else could speak Armenian.

Diaz suggested he shut it, according to Parisyan. It may have started as a joke but soon escalated into trash-talking and threats of violence. Parisyan ended up having to be pulled away.

While he doesn’t consider the incident worth revisiting, he still has strong opinions about Nate Diaz.

“He’s a little bitch. Just like his brother.”

Thanks to The Canadian Press.

UFC 78: Chris Lytle vs. Thiago Alves & Karo Parisyan vs. Ryo Chonan

According to WrestlingObserver.com Thiago Alves (12-3) will fight Octagon veteran Chris Lytle (24-14-5) — not Ryo Chonan — at UFC 78: “Validation”. The announcement is part of a switch-up because Hector Lombard — the original opponent for Karo Parisyan — was scratched because of visa problems. So now Karo “The Heat” Parisyan (17-4) will fight Octagon newcomer Ryo Chonan (14-7) — not Hector Lombard — on November 17 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

UFC 78: ‘Validation’ tickets for show in Newark NJ on sale tomorrow

Tickets for UFC 78: “Validation” at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on November 17 go on sale tomorrow, September 29 at noon ET for the general public, according to UFC.com.

The Web site indicates that Fight Club members and newsletter subscribers have already had their early chances at tickets this week through exclusive presales.

UFC 78 features a solid undercard with a welterweight bout between Karo Parisyan and Octagon newcomer, Hector Lombard. Frank Edgar and Spencer Fisher are also expected to clash in a lightweight showdown.

Based on the title of the show, “Validation,” it would appear that the intention is to settle the score between Ortiz and Evans, who fought to an unceremonious draw at UFC 73: “Respect” in July.

Then again, that’s all speculation. At this point let’s wait to hear official word from the UFC, which should be coming very soon.
