Joe Doerksen to fight Ed Herman at UFC 78
Following David Terrell’s withdrawl from his match with Ed “Short Fuse” Herman, veteran fighter Joe Doerksen has stepped up to the plate and will now face Herman on the UFC 78: “Validation” fight card which takes place this month in Newark, New Jersey.
Doerksen (39-10), a native of New Bothwell, Manitoba, Canada, will be returning to the UFC for the first time since his March 2006 bout against Nate Marquardt at UFC 58. Since his last Octagon appearance, the 30-year old has won seven of eight bouts (all wins coming via submission or TKO), with his only defeat coming at the hands of current WEC middleweight champion Paulo Filho. In ‘Short Fuse’ Herman (15-4), Doerksen will be facing a hard-charging up and comer who is currently riding a two fight UFC winning streak.

David Terrell Pulls out of fight with Ed Herman
Sam Caplan of ProElite.com has been able to confirm rumors that David “The Soul Assassin” Terrell has pulled out of his match-up with Ed “Short Fuse” Herman which was scheduled to take place this month on the UFC 78: “Validation” fight card in Newark, New Jersey.
Terrell is in fact off the card due to what was termed as a severe ankle injury that was sustained during training. This is yet another in a long line of setbacks that has limited the talented middleweight to just one fight in the last year and a half.
