Dana White: UFC headed to Atlanta, Liddell returns in Sept. and EXCITING announcement soon!

UFC President Dana White, announced another expansion of the company’s reach in the U.S. market. In a recent interview with ESPN The Magazine, he stated that the UFC will hold an event in September in Atlanta, Ga. No venue was announced but rumors have it that the UFC will operate the September event at the Philips Arena, a 21,000-seat arena.
Here’s a snip from the interview:
Who will Chuck fight in September?
The fight is going to be in Atlanta, Georgia—that’s something we haven’t said publicly yet. There’s something no one else has heard. You have no idea some of the stuff that we have planned. I’m going to make an announcement next week that is going to blow people’s minds. That deal is done, but my employees don’t even know yet. I’m renting out a place next Thursday and I’m going to tell them. Then we’ll make the announcement later that day. It’s an indicator of where this business is going over the next five years.
We think a TV deal, Affliction vs. UFC … Any Guesses?

Andrei Arlovski parts ways with UFC, fights on Affliction fight card
The UFC was unable to fix their relationship with former heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski regardless of what Arlovski’s manager said. It looks like “The Pitbull” will now be fighting under Affliction banner.
Arlovski is riding a three-win streak and has only been defeated by Tim Sylvia in the last six years. He last fought on the preliminary card at UFC 82: “Pride of a Champion” on March 1. He defeated (then) the undefeated Jack O’Brian via TKO in Round 2.

The event will be promoted by Affliction and with the American Airlines Arena in Dallas being the home of HDNet Fight’s there is a good chance it will be shown on Mark Cuban’s TV network live.
Fedor on Sylvia:
“[Sylvia] is a good fighter, a strong fighter, the former UFC heavyweight champion, which is important. I am looking forward to fighting him and training hard for this fight.”
Tim Sylvia has recently parted ways with the UFC in a split that has been categorized by both parties as amicable. Sylia was granted permission to sign on with his long time manager, Monte Cox, who runs Adrenaline MMA promotion.
