According to Sherdog.com, undefeated Thiago Silva will fight Antonio Mendes at UFC 84: “Ill Will” at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 24.

Silva (12-0) was originally booked to face Rashad Evans; however, an injury to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua promoted “Sugar” to the main event against Chuck Liddell at UFC 85 on June 7.

Mendes (14-2) is on an 11-fight win streak, competing primarily in Europe. His last fight was in M-1 against Kiril Sidelnikov which Mendes won due to doctor stoppage(cut).
