Let me go ahead and say it. This is why jiu-jitsu rocks. Mir got his ass handed to him the whole match. But with jiu-jitsu, he held on long enough to find his move, and he took it. And he WON!

Mir better lose vs Noguira otherwise Brock is going to murder him. I’m sure he wants revenge for that and Mir is not going to get another lucky break.

Mir showed class. The UFC is not looking good at all if someone like Mir is not seen as its brightest star. He is the real deal and there should be others like him encouraged to bring the level of skill up in the UFC. If Mir was not around then who would compete against someone like Fedor? There should be more Frank Mir’s out there. Bless you man.

How the hell does a looser like Lesner get a title shot after 1 win and 1 loss. Just because he is a freaky big and has no brains to knock-out. I think he should have to fight every person in his division once before he gets a chance at the title. Frank Mir and/or Randy should have the belt. Just wait for the rematch Mir is going to break his head off. Fuck Brock Lesner and if your a fan Fuck you too.

I hardly think that was a “lucky break”. Mir waited for an opportunity, took it and won. It went to show that MMA is not about mass or strength, ironically the FIRST lesson UFC 1 showcased. I have lost of admiration for Lesnar for leaving a multi-million dollar road show and jumping in with the real fighters for a fraction of the money, but the lesson in this fight was poetic: technique trumps brute force alone…

No, no, no… The preceding comment was meant to read “I have LOTS of admiration for Lesnar, not ‘lost’ admiration…” No Freudian slip. I swear!

You guys dont understand what getting your ass handed to you is. ir was doing fine. Brock didnt hurt Mir at all. If you know about fighting then your comments would reflect it. Mir is very good standing and on the ground. Brock will never become good unless he drops 25 lbs.

It is total BS though. Lesnar had the fight won and the ref pulled him off. UFC is no more real than wrestling. If you can see it, then you know. I mean, Lesnar won that bout imo. The ankle lock submission only occurred after thr ref pulled Lesnar off Mir like 3 times.

Mir weathered the storm and won. Dickhead, you are exactly that + ignorant!

you are all talking shit about brock, but i bet he could kick every one of your asses

If you look at recent photos of Mir, you will see he is doing something to pack on some real muscle. He will likely come into this fight 20 pounds heavier than the last battle with Lesnar.

This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity for Mir. Lesnar will likely be the dominating force in the UFC’s heavyweight, but this fight has all the makings of another major upset.

What I mean is, Mir has more to gain than Lesnar. And he knows it, this is why you will see comparable photos that show Mir is packing on some serious muscle mass for this one.

This is his comeback legacy. Do NOT bet against Mir on this fight.

Eddiepny, I could not agree with you more, Mir knows how much this fight means to him, he has way more to lose than Lesnar. I think he will come heavier, stronger, and more aware of what to do, and what NOT to do against Lesnar.

like all fights and this one is no different, it only takes one clean punch. brock has an advantage of being freakishly huge and strong. mir has an advantage of having an excellent ground game. when it is all summed up on paper mir still looks to be the best fighter. he did however get his ass handed to him the first fight. he got a break and took it and consequently won the fight. thats what mma is all about. it will only take one mistake for either fighter to lose this fight. so i suppose it comes down to ring awareness. this is where mir should dominate but hell i dont know how many punches it will take from brock for mir to forget where he is anway. ultimatley i feel mir’s experience will outway the force of brock. he should pull this off and actually i hope he does. but i will not be upset or suprised if mir gets knocked out. thats the beauty of the fight. anyone has the chance to win depending on how they adapt to the situation as it occurs.

Mir is a great fighter and he will return. Lesnar is a BEAST and will continue to improve. Shame on all of you who talked smack about either of these fighters. They have each proved themselves worthy competitors. I love and respect them both for having the kind of heart and soul that you trash talking speculators cannot even fathom.

This is why I hate being in ground fighting; No matter how big you are, no matter how hard you hit, if you get took to the ground, it’s more a test of technical skill. I’m pretty confident in my striking on the ground (I can hit hard at point-blanc range), but if I got in a submission lock, fuck that.

Still, fuck having Brock Lesnar land on top of you =p
